Why Apex Reptile?

Modular Freedom. Built to last.

Engineered for strength, designed to adapt — your Apex Reptile® forever home can start small, and expands as your reptile grows.

Premium materials. Interlocking strength. Adaptable for every reptile, every setup, and every stage of keeping.

Signature Swing Door

Full Access

The signature swing door found across every Apex Reptile build. Because it opens outward instead of sliding partially open you get full, unobstructed access

No Gaps, No Debris

No overlapping panels creating gaps for a curious climber to investigate — just a clean, sealed front every time. No track to collect debris either.

Got a large reptile that pushes out? We have door tabs for added safety on large doors.

Keeps Stress Low

Reptiles are highly perceptive — they notice the strong vibration of a sliding track. Our swing-out doors skip all of that: no rattling, no jolt, just a smooth, predictable open your reptile can get used to.

Top Style

Solid Top

Keeps heat and humidity steady while allowing secure mounting of radiant heat panels, UVB bars, or LEDs directly into the solid top on the inside. Ventilation holes on the back panel and solid sides provide airflow. Add small fans on a timer to the existing vent cut-outs for more precise heat & humidity control.

Screen Top

Maximum airflow and external fixture mounting for arid species or high-ventilation environments.

Premium Material

Apex Reptile® enclosures use aerospace-grade aluminum mesh, smooth on the inside and engineered for performance. It allows up to 80% UVB and heat pass-through, giving your reptile the full benefit of external lighting. Unlike fine woven mesh that blocks vital rays, our design maintains true full-spectrum exposure, airflow, safety, and humidity balance — ideal for long-term reptile health.

Substrate Lip Height

Low Substrate (≈2”)

Easy to clean and perfect for minimal substrate set-ups and for keepers who prefer maximizing vertical space.

Medium Substrate (≈4”)

Our most versatile choice — ideal for most species and builds. Deep enough for enrichment, shallow enough for easy upkeep.

High Substrate (≈8”)

Built for burrowers and deep bioactive ecosystems. Deep soil capacity supports plant roots and natural digging behavior.

Side Windows

No Side Windows

Maximum privacy and insulation. Ideal for shy or nocturnal reptiles.

One Side Window

Balanced visibility and climate control (Make the window side the cool side as it's less insulating).

One window also makes it easy to add on to the enclosure later. When you're ready, just take out the clear window and attach the next enclosure.

Two or More Windows

Observe your reptile from every angle. Best for confident, active species and centerpiece habitats.

Wondering about...?

🧩 What does "modular" mean?

It means your enclosure isn't a fixed size forever. Apex Reptile enclosures are built from individual blocks that bolt together — so as your reptile grows, or your setup needs change, you don't have to buy a whole new enclosure. You just bolt on another block, swap a panel, or reconfigure what you already have. One enclosure, built to grow and change right alongside your reptile.

📏 Can any enclosure be expanded?

Yes! Any enclosures can be combined length-wise on the 2'x2' side. Any enclosures of the same size can be combined height-wise and depth-wise. All enclosure combinations are done with extension kits.

🧼 How easy are these to clean?

HDPE is chemical resistant, it will not hold odors and you can wash it and sanitize it repeatedly without worrying about mold or rot if it isn't dried properly like with wood enclosures. Remember to seal your seams with "LEXEL" to prevent leaks and spills!

❓ What is HDPE, and why switch to it?

This material is the safest and strongest plastic available for your reptile's forever home. HDPE (high-density polyethylene) is a premium plastic that other industries have trusted for decades — the same material used in outdoor furniture, playgrounds, marine hardware, and industrial machinery. We've wanted to make this switch for a long time, since it's the final piece in pairing the best possible materials with the engineering we've already put into every enclosure.

🌱 Can I go bioactive with these?

  • HDPE enclosures are ideal for bioactive setups thanks to the material's insulating properties which help maintain a stable environment for plants and animals.
  • The material itself is waterproof both inside and out, preventing water damage and making it easier to maintain high humidity levels.
  • Resistant to high heat temperatures it will not warp or off-gas
  • Keep in mind, it is still important to seal the enclosure seams with LEXEL once assembled.

💡 How do I heat & light my Apex enclosure?

Solid top? Screw in your radiant heat panels, ceramic fixtures, or UVB light bars right into the lid with appropriate sized screws. Protect with fixture caging for climbers.

Screen top? Place domes or UVB bars directly on top or suspend them above. The result: steady temps, consistent lighting, and a setup that looks as professional as it performs.

Skip the heat mats — HDPE is too insulating for those and does not provide the needed airflow when used underneath. Use an overhead heat source and a piece of slate to create basking spots.

🏗️ What should I have ready before my reptile moves in?

To prepare for your set-up make sure you have the essentials:
✔️ UVB light & heat source
✔️ Thermostat + thermometer/hygrometer
✔️ Substrate & décor for climbing/hiding
✔️ LEXEL sealant for seams
✔️ Feeding & cleaning tools
✔️ A sturdy flat spot to place your enclosure

⏳ Why is there a lead time?

Because we don’t mass-produce — we craft. Each enclosure is cut, engraved, and packaged right here in Arizona by a small U.S. team. Your order isn’t pulled from a warehouse; it’s built for you and the reptile who’ll call it home.
